Well, just in the last 2 days I have already seen over half a dozen speaker ads for the oh so famous "white van" speakers that are pure crapola. People - anyone who says "MSRP of these speakers you've never heard of before was $1000 per speaker but now I sell for 100 each!!! WOW!" you should just walk away.

Again - all you losers who are trying to unload these pieces of trash on the rest of community just do yourself a favor and get a day-job that doesn't involve scamming other people out of their hard-earned money. Please - really. The world is bad enough with pirates taking over U.S. ships and people getting killed in a new school shooting every other day. Can you do your part and try not to make the world an even crappier place? OK? Thank you. That would be really nice if we could all be a little more honest. Yeah, I think so.

Once again - people - you'll need to become familiar with this list and don't buy anything off craigslist or ebay (or anything from anyone in a white van period) that has one of these name on it:

Hey, guys, these are Digital speakers. MUST be good. State-of-the-art, and all that. And look at those high-tech metal cones (well, rounded-off cones). All very state-of-the-art and such! :thmbsp:.


NOT! Just "funnin'", of course.

As for similar/copycat names, I've seen a LOT of those in the far East. Like Bolex watches, the Tranasonics and TEAKs and Malantz, Marentz, etc... are pretty common, at the low end of the market.

I feel sorry for anyone who actually gets suckered in on these because they just don't know better, but obviously a lot of people must be, or there wouldn't be so many floating around the secondhand market! You can't always say they're just being greedy and looking for a bargain deal, because that is what all of us are doing who haunt flea-markets and other secondhand sources, too. [Unless, of course, the items are being sold as stolen, etc..., in which case the people are being knowingly unethical. That's a different story.]

I was about to put a hundred dollar bill into the paper shredder when I saw this local CL ad. I thought about it for several minutes--and then stuck it into the shredder--at least that way it didn't go to finance somebody's meth habit...

Could be trademark infringement. The test is whether consumers would be confused in the marketplace. Maybe Klipsch should sue Kirsch...might be just different enough to escape though...it would be nice to shut these scum down one way or the other.
