Yes, those are cool! The only downside on Ampex (& its a small downside) is that info on them is scarce. They used great iron such as Triad and were built to very high standards.

I'm restoring one of these for a customer... it's not as nice as these, and requires a great deal of work to undo years of poor repairs. Can't wait to listen to it.

Don't feel too bad. The shields are missing of the 5789 tubes so there is not much value in the amps . (Hope this makes you feel better.)

Well, these had originally sold for 1600 bucks, and the new owner sold them on Ebay again for 2600 bucks...I hate when that happens..
