Atlanta McIntosh Bozak Dahlquist Ampex Teac

The McIntosh appears to be an MC 275 (tube) - albeit a bit tattered with an ugly handle mounted to the side of the chassis.

Still should be worth a good buck regardless.

Bozak CGs; Dali DQ 20s, Teac R-T-Rs.

A lot of nice stuff there.

You are correct sir! Pictures have been added since I last looked. Speakers in photo 70, Voice of the Theater?

This is the kind of sale that I'd miss work to attend. Other than the ones mentioned, I see a lot of Fender speaker cabs and possibly amps.

Speakers in picture 70 sure appear to be VOTTs.

Sheltiedave here would know for sure. He's the speaker man. :)

I would have a tendency to stay away from this, unless the company's camera is trashed. Absolutely everything looks like it has gone through a twenty year party, ten years without cleaning, and then five years ago went through a flood.
There might be a lot of cheap treasures there, but there is a lot of risk if priced toward market.

Most folks with that much good and great gear are very discriminating, whereas this one looks like a rich dissipated son who was in rock bands, and partied his way to final death.

The Dahlquists - water damage. The Bozaks - water damage. the McIntoshes - filthy. The VOTTs - modded with 811s replacing the 511s. A lot of desirable gear in a coyote den.

at first i only saw around 10 pictures and "you call this an estate sale" ran through my mind..

after closing that and reading more comments here i looked again and scrolled down, damnnnnnnnnnn thats a bunch of mcintosh in that bi...

somebody loan me some money, and a truck.

Not that I'd complain, but isn't all that gear covered in a weird mildew looking substance?

Yes, lots of stuff in the basement looks corroded and moldy but the gear upstairs looks ok... Wouldn't surprise me if some, or all, of the stains on the speakers are urine from the feline companions presently occupying the residence.

from a 'mostly functional' point of view, as long as those electronics werent plugged in at the time of getting wet, or any time while wet, they are probably fine.

the problem with getting wet comes from the current running through it, it causes a type of electroplating to happen causing permanent shorts all over the place. as long as it wasnt plugged in all you have to deal with is the smell, 'buildup', and rust.

Also spotted a pair of what seems like Jubals. I'd definitely go if I'm anywhere near. Other than the Bozak and Dahlquist water stains, looks like normal dust and wear for estate stuff.

Interesting collection of gear. I don't see where a guy can go wrong if he budgets accordingly. There's a small fortune in Lionel trains to boot ...

I would never touch anything that had been fully or partially submerged and some of the pics give reason for concern.

Presumably anyone in attendance specifically interested in the gear likely would have some idea of what he's doing & looking at.

From what can be seen, most of it does not appear to have been particularly well loved...

All the same, I'd be interested in postings from any firsthand accounts of the sale.

The MA6900 was upstairs and was priced at 2200.00:sigh: and didnt sell the first day but did today! MC275 was at 3600.00 tomorrow is 1/2 price! MC2505 x 3 675.00ea and MC2105 @ 600.00. C28 preamp sold first day! Jubals SOLD! Bozak 1400.00...Thats all I got

Thanks for the info.

I guess the 275 was sold at the tomorrow price; at that, I would not have given $1,800 for it.

I doubt I'd be interested in the 2505s or 2105 at the tomorrow prices either.
