AU-666 assistance

Hi guys, I’m new to all this. Just recently got a Sansui AU-666 and it is missing speaker fuses & fuse caps. It looks like I need 4A fuses for the speakers but I’m not sure if there is any specific type or if any caps will work. If anyone has pointers to where I could find them I’d appreciate it.

Can't help on the caps. Great amp, I had one and really liked it.

Be sure to replace the "flying saucer" transistors.
 
Looks like you will have to replace the fuseholders. If you are REALLY lucky you get fuseholders with caps you can use in your amp. Maybe someone has a donor amp. More descriptive topic title would have helped.

Thanks. I have no idea what the flying saucer transistor is but at least I have something to go on now.

Thanks. Also no clue how to replace the fuse holders but again, gives me something to go on.

Do some googling, there's quite a few threads on AK about this model. Another thing is to for sure remove the low pass board and crowbar protection board. If you can use a soldering iron those are easy mods.

Also be sure the unit is set to the correct voltage (under the model plate on back) and make sure the correct fuse is in the main holder.

I appreciate the help. I’m brand new to all this so I didn’t know where to start. I’ll do more googling and go from there.
 
We'd be interested to hear of the results once you get the fuse holders and fuses back in - they may have been removed for a reason (but hopefully not....)
