AU-888 Refurb: Driver Board Issues

Have you done a similar mod to an Au 888 like the Au 555a mod you posted a few years back?

I have worked on an AU-888, e.g., phono stage restoration/upgrade but have not done a complete restoration on this model.

I've recapped both my 888's and short of the issues that Leestereo helped me with, they are relatively easy amps to work on.
All but three boards are in sockets which makes it so much easier.

Vbe multiplier by-pass capacitor mod: Install a small film capacitor (e.g., 1uF) across the emitter and collector of TR809; capacitor can be install on component side of F-1282.
Baxandall Diode mod: Replace R847 with a 220ohm 0.5W resistor and install a diode (e.g., 1N4148) across the resistor; diode cathode is towards emitter of TR817 and it can be installed on solder side of F-1282.

Great job!!!
Given the similarity of the diagrams between the AU888 and AU999, the modification is the same.
I had already seen that modification in your restoration of the AU555A, I implemented it and it turned out very well.
I will soon implement it in the AU999.
