Audio clubs?

I read somewhere on here that there were audio clubs up in the Detroit area. I want to know if there are any in the Orlando/Central Florida area.

Where would one look to find one in their area?

There is also the Audio Engineering Society which has local sections. I didn't see anything for Florida though. Atlanta appeared to be the closest.

Problem with most clubs(audio, car, whatever), is there's usually quite a bit of interest up front, but generally fades away over time. Don't think I'd be putting to much effort into finding one in your area.

I think that a lot depends on the type of people that are members. The Pacific Northwest Audio Society has been meeting continuously since 1978 (I joined in late 1981). The people that we have as members are somewhat diverse, although we have a heavy presence of Engineers and Computer people, a number of Audio professionals (both equipment and music) as well as semi-pro types and advanced amateurs.

Of course, there are a few clueless types :scratch2: that have snuck in as well, but I work at trying to fit in!
