"Audio high end store" upgrade kits?

Sorry to be brutal but the service manual is available @ hifiengine, make up your own kit. Order from a reliable
source like Mouser/Digikey in the US to ensure you get genuine parts.

It's a nice web site, they do quote nice caps Elna, Nichi KZ,FG however no indication as to what they use as
main filter caps, the most expensive item.

OK, Mouser and Co do charge a small fortune (USD30?) for shipping small orders (<USD200?) and shipping
to Uruguay might be expensive.

I'd diy to ensure I got genuine parts.

The web site did not include a street address/location, is this a secret?
 
Hi Fabian, if you download the service manual from hifiengine (need to create an account, it's safe) then make a list
of what caps are installed in the unit, ie, cap number, size (uf) and working voltage, note the service manual is sometimes
incorrect/outdated. If you post that list then I'm sure a member will be happy to provide you with guidance on what caps
to use/source. Happy to do it myself.
 
Its an old thread but for you information, I ordered a full recap set for my Sansui AU-D9 at Audio High End Store, they offer all genuine Nichicon capacitors for a very good price. To be honest, I was a bit nerveous about the fact it had to come from Bulgaria, but I received the pacacke without any problem and it looks very good. Also it was fun communicating with the owner (I presume) Svetlin Kolev. Will order from them again.

^^^Good to have a good news story. Least they would select caps that fit in the available space.
I'll stick to mouser/digikey just to be gobsmacked by the delivery time...
 
I ordered a kit for my Kenwood KA 6004 amp and all is in order. All Nichicon caps. 46 in all, excluding the filter caps.
Some may want to do the tedious work ordering all individual caps which I found takes hours and hours. I'm not one.
Next I am ordering their package to re-cap my Lux R-115.
I think they provide a time saving service at a reasonable price..
 
I'm sure these kits are ok but they are terribly expensive. 29 euros for 27 caps is twice what you would pay if you ordered them yourself (and then not be 100 percent sure that the caps will match). If you're going to recap it yourself anyways then you should be able to open up your amp and id the caps yourself (bend the caps to see the values or use a dentist mirror https://www.amazon.com/SE-Stainless...=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B001F2ACY6 ). You'll also know what your getting into before you start.
 
Hi guys, some new information about the Audio High-End store ? I made a order for my Pioneer sx750 and the people from the site tell me that has a tracking number, but until now nothing about the number. I am asking a lot about this information and nothing. I am worried about this situation....please sorry my english.

I am in the same situation whit this people of Audio High-End Store. I made an order for my Pionner RT 707 in november of 2020. Till now NOTHING, i have send them an email, and the answer that they have a big delays with the shipments, and of course I have NO Trucking number. Today I send them a new mail again.

After a lot of question, they send me the tracking number and my order arrived with no problems. Of course it takes a long time, about 6 mounths.

I have made the bought in November of 2020, and they send it in January of 2021. Well at last the have send it ¡¡¡
 
I have ordered several kits. Very good service. The kit for my Beomaster 3000 lacked a few components. They immediately sent what was missing and some extra components.
Nowadays I order from mouser, but not because I dislike Audio high end store.
 
Well, I must say, that today the postal service of my country (Argentina), tell me that the parcel is in my country.
So, this people have some delays, but at last they comply.:):).
I have mi KIT, for the Pioneer RT-707. Now I must to work in it.
 
Sadly I bought 2 x capacitor kits from "Audio High End Store" (one set in December and one set in April) but nothing was received here in the UK.

Today I complained to PayPal and I received an instant refund for the purchase in April but no money will be refunded for the purchase in December because the purchase is more than 180 days.

Be very careful with this seller. If you don't receive the capacitors, contact PayPal quickly and start a dispute. Don't be relaxed like me, or you will lose money :-(

The standard shipping rate from both digikey and mouser is $6.95 us. It’s is perplexing to know which series of capacitors to order for which locations. You will get multiple answers on this forum. Having a proper BOM is very helpful and time saving. There are some basic concepts to follow and many service manuals will tell you quite a bit. Having fully recapped a number of vintage receivers, it’s typically between 90 and 125 caps. All the kits I have seen, including those from Audio Highend Store, appear to be incomplete. They may include the most commonly used parts, but there may be differences in what is actually installed and you will probably end up needing to order what’s missing anyway. There are lots of discussions regarding power filtering, bipolar/nonpolar, low noise, lower voltage range in-signal and replacing lower uf values below 4.7uf with polypropylene films. Recapping without knowing how to read a schematic and knowing what cap goes where and why is like walking in the dark, if you are lucky you may only get some bumps and bruises or you may fall down the stairs.
 
I bought a recapping kit for my SAE Mark IVD power amp from HiFiAudio and everything you have said was true there as well.

However, he sent an SAE service repair sheet with it and that was EXTREMELY valuable. It said things like how to adjust bias voltage and quiescent current and to test for bad output transistors and rectifiers and I followed those instructions and found several things beyond the capacitors to replace and tuned it as well as I could. I am handy but not a electrical guy but ended up with a like new amplifier.
