Audiogon fails to impress

Well, the boys have found a way to kill their own golden goose..

After weeks of preparedness Audiogon has relaunched tonight....it is a disaster of epic proportions....

I can't even find my own ads......"this listing does not exist" is the message I got...

Can't the geeks just leave well enough alone????????

Well, it's ugly, slow, and I got 3 error messages in 5 minutes. Other than that it seems fine.

Wow, it really is slow. And hard to navigate. And I can't find things as easily. And its counter-intuitive. So at least they're going with the flow of the rest of the internet.

They have done a magnificent job of making Audiogon worse in every conceivable way. And the stark white background makes me cold. I don't like being cold.

Please nobody go monkeying with this site.

Too late....the delicate geniuses have had their way!

Supposed to be up and running by Friday AM..right!

I'm a seller with 3 ads out there right now....and I am pissed!

As JFK said about the CIA, "I want to break them into a thousand pieces"...and look where it got him. Audiogon's Nazis won't tolerate backtalk from the masses, believe me!

If only there was a true competitive site.....can anyone say "monopoly"? So much for Capitalism, eh Poppy?

WTF?
Just click 4 links all were excruciatingly long to load and some just gave an error code!!!!!!! WOOWWW What a way to F up a site I really used to enjoy immensely. I have an account too. :tears:

Now they load but no preview thumbnails? Thats no fun either.

the category search looks like it could work better than before.

I just visited Audiogon from my iPhone. I'm currently on a commuter bus, on 3G - no wi-fi available. I had no problem negotiating the site, and doing a search. I have a subscription to Bluebook and was able to access it as well. The site looks different but like anything new, takes some getting used to. I'm sorry, I don't see what the fuss is about.

Wow is it a mess. I like the way the old search function worked. It is too much work to apply filters, and doesn't seem to work when you do.

Server side cache settings tend to get changed once a site is finished. Probably the speed will go back to normal. I don't really understand why they have it live in this state, but whatever. On the other hand, fading, sliding menus NEVER feel fast no matter how perfectly they work, because they take more time to show up by their own definition. When will people learn?

exactly what was wrong with the old site?

It worked for year quite well, at least for me, the new one doesn't work very well at all, as a buyer.

I notice the url is app.audiogon dot com

Maybe trying to be hip with an app and pewed the scrooch.

Yeah, there's an app for that. But nobody uses it becasue it sucks balls.

It no longer categorizes items after a search (nor does it list the category at all after searches). Fail. That was incredibly helpful if you like to search for particular brands and see what all is available.
