Yes the AR 90 sound gorgeous i just dont a receiver to power it up right. i was hoping for the 1250. i would really like to get that going

I cant give up the bose...i understand that what you all mean about the sound. i play it in a high ceiling room and it really does make a difference. i love how it looks and i just cant let go...

I have a Pioneer PL 518 and a Thorens TD 145.

If you want my frank opinion, the Pioneer is the better machine of the two. YMMV.

I'd consider a Thorens TD-160s (later version IV or V) + Linn Akito or Rega RB300...or the RB250(if you wish to upgrade the arm later with aftermarket mods).
Then add a good moving magnet cartridge whose compliance is well suited to a 11- 12gm medium effective mass tonearm..and you have an affordable ,dependable front end that doesn't cost the earth,yet offers the user convenience of speed switching and a tonearm that will allow you to get good performance from a decent budget cartridge...yet still be capable of a few upgrade notches if you want to spend more on a transducer later...

For the amount of money in your budget, you would be better off going vintage. The vintage table will give you more bang for the buck. To get a good turntable, you would have to spend $1000 or more. Vintage table are well built and will last you a very long time. This would be money very well spent.

ive decided. Selling my AR 90. The pioneer qx 949 and the cerwin vega... keeping the 4311. ill just run the 4311 along with my l100s. Im selling one spatial soon, very soon, but not quite yet.
