Overheard two Germans on an elevator:

If a person that speaks three languages is called trilingual and a person that speaks two languages is called bilingual, then what do you call a person that speaks one language?

An American. :D

I bet the OP is the one who calls everyone a dumbass on YT. Do not be put off but this troll. IMHO, foreigners are to be saluted for using English.

Just asked my electronic English dictionary made in China what dumbass is. "Sorry not found", but instead it offers dumb and ass. Apparently it is on the right way.

Urchinn you are right, it is not SpellcheckKarma.org, but I am eager to make as less mistakes as possible.
 
I try to exhibit good spelling and grammar for my own self respect. It's personally embarrassing to see poorly written and or misspelled posts written by myself in a public forum such as AK.

My own "pet peeve" is when the use of capitol letters and punctuation is ignored. To me that's almost as bad as using all capitols.

Kudos to all the posters who are not native English speakers. Your posts frequently exhibit better spelling and grammar than many posts by "Mericuns".

My pet hate is people who don't take the time that put together a thread title which is sufficiently descriptive to allow me to make a decision as to whether or not I even want to read that thread. I ignore anything with a thread title that appears to have been put together by a four year old.

Communication is important, to the extent that it's part of most undergraduate degrees - given that most AKers seem to be highly educated, intelligent folk, I believe we owe it to ourselves to set an example for the rest of the planet. :D

I actually understood this. They say that it is amazing what the human mind can do. We know how a word should look so the brain fixes it for us.

As to what the OP wrote, I think that the most annoying thing is the run on sentence which has absolutely no capitalization or punctuation.

Let me see if i can give you an example of that you just have to keep reading along because i will be emitting a stream of consciousness there are simply so many things that can go wrong when posting but if you use this style it will be very difficult to follow what is trying to be said anyway that is all did i mention what happened the other day.

Now should it be "audit your posts" or "edit your posts"?

The better question is "to be or not to be" and this thread never should have been.

Now I know why so many long time members take a little time away from AK during the holidays.
