I’ve never been to a record convention (or any other convention). Is anyone going this year or have gone in the past? Any tips or know-before-you-go’s?

I have not gone in a few years but it's a good opportunity to pick up some deals or search for harder to find LPs. The Palmer Event Center is pretty huge and it's filled with vendors. You want new or rare audiophile pressings - they got it. If you want to sit on the floor and dig through crates under the table - you can do that too. Some vendors are organized so you can search by artist or genre, others are just crate digging. Looking for sleeves or cleaning supplies - you can find some of those. CDs, videos, posters are there too.

I've never gone on Friday but if you want a first shot at everything, you can pay a premium admission and shop before the general admission on Sat-Sun. If you wait until Sunday, vendors start cutting prices and/or shutting down early.

And Sandy's Hamburgers is just across the street.

I actually tried to register for the Austin show a couple of months ago. Still not response to multiple emails.

I know that this is a pretty big show, and it's only an hour from my house, so I figured it would not be to bad. But I wish they would have gotten back to me and at least said that they were full.

I waited too long to book a hotel (just did it today) and everything is booked. Had to book a Motel 6. Hopefully, there’s no bed bugs… and it’s just one night.

How ironic that after multiple emails sent, that I found a different email and sent another message yesterday. Low and behold I got a message late yesterday. I was told that messages were sent and to check my spam file. Nothing in any of the spam files but this email came through. Hoping that I can get it figured out.

Yeah, probably a tough weekend to book lodging.

Saturday has the Longhorns at home against Georgia. Best to avoid the campus area around game time.

Both days are F1 race/festivities at Circuit of The Americas.

Well, it’s not possible for me to be there all three days. I do hope to make it at at least one. Please stop by and say hi. It’s always nice to put a face with the name.

Ben packing up stuff to go to the show. So far we have

Bootlegs
Record show day
Third record record. Tons of rare stuff
And many sealed records from as early as the 1960-2000s all the way up to brand new.

Hope y’all stop by even just to say hi. Thanks.

Almost forgot it. Here’s a link to the show. Not 100% sure where our table is, but I think it’s not far from the entrance. Thanks hope to see y’all there.
