I have a Pioneer SX-1280 with a tuner board that was accidently crippled by me while working on the power supply board. I forgot to put an insulator between the power supply board (while it was pulled out for service) and protection board adjacent to it. The 13v regulator heat sink on the power supply board came in contact with one of the rectifier assemblies on the protection board across from it. I now have an FM stereo light on all the time, as well as a pegged signal meter when "AM" is selected. I don't think it's worth trying to weed out all the bad ICs (and whatever else), so I'd like to swap it with a spare tuner board from an SX-980. They look nearly identical, with exception of Q4 being an 8-pin DIP on the AWE-094 (from the SX-980) and what appears to be a 7-pin SIP on the AWE-092 (in the SX-1280). Does anyone know if these boards are directly swappable? Thanks!
