I have a pair of of maggies that look exactly like that. Want to make mono blocks with them, but I don't think I can.

Are they the 101b amps? If so you could modify the power supply, add a choke and a 12ax7 which would make them usable with typical modern speakers. There is some info on this thread. http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=253695
