The Nak 1000 ZXL is a rare and very expensive cassette deck. It is perhaps the most valuable cassette deck.

Yeah, I'm not even into cassettes but would probably get into them if I got my hands on the Nak 1000zxl. That thing's a true beast!

The main speakers look nice, too..actually, it all looks nice, but the floor speakers especially.

I wonder if these are AR-1's

hi s.m.
my thoughts as well

Did the AR-1 come in cabinets like those? I thought they had a more faceted look near the baffle, but I've never seen a pair in person. They look like the thinner AR-2 cabinets to me. Either way...this sale is loaded with goodies.

Okay guys, I beat you to the sale. Now please be sitting down as I tell you the prices, she made me a little list.

Nakamichi 1000ZL Computing Cassette Deck $1,200.00
McIntosh C32 Stereo Preamp $1,600.00
McIntosh Model MR73 FM/AM Tuner $650.00
McIntosh MC 2205 Stereo Power Amp $1,500.00
Nakamich Dragon Auto Reverse Tape Deck $1,200.00
Jim Lansing Signature Model 375 Pair $2,500.00 (Large)
Jim Lansing Signature Model 375 Pair $800.00 (Small)

So even if they went to 75% off they would still be out of our league. But I must commit that it is a very gorgeous setup

Yeehaw! This is why I don't go to estate sales very often. Just like strip clubs, they get you all excited for nothin'.

I have a friend up your way whose girlfriend dances at a Chicago strip club. He has an interesting life, to be sure. :scratch2:

Estate sales are really hit-and-miss for me. Garage sales work out the best.

You'd think someone running a high-end estate sale would be able to spell. "Modal?"

I have better furniture luck than stereo luck at estate sales, but even then, the good stuff is gone or overpriced by the time I wake up and get there.

I knew a stripper...pulled in about $350,000 a year making (mostly) false promises.

One of my good friends from high school did that for a while...she made good cash. Really good.

You have to get up early in the AM. My best garage sale vinyl score was at 7am on the way to work - they hadn't even put the records out when I got there. I had about 10 minutes to work before the next person showed up to look.

Yep I am learning this but my body isn't lol I got up at 4am to get my ess audio stuff. I am keeping in contact with the guy at this sale, and trying to get an idea of what they might come down to. I want to go Sunday but I still think they will be out of my limit, I would like to crack open the jbl's

Good luck...at those prices, that gear may very well not sell and they could come down significantly at the end of the last day (or not...but sometimes they do).

I am NOT a morning person, but I'll force myself up to hit a good sale before work. Probably doing it this morning, actually.
