B&O 3000 (5231) idler gear "rumble"

I am reviving a B&O 3000 (5231 with the radial tonearm). It is in very good cosmetic condition and the automatic functions all seem to work correctly. But it is noisy - I am hoping someone can help me get it to run more quietly.

The idler gear is creating a rumbling noise as it is driven by the motor. The motor is dead quite, the idler creates a rumble, and the noise gets louder when I install the belt and sub-platter.

I see mention of this rumble issue in some forums but if there is a useful solution I have overlooked it. I have replaced the idler and belt with new parts from Danish Sound Parts. I have cleaned the platter, motor shaft and pulley.

Has a B&O enthusiast conquered this issue? If you have, please lend me your expertise.

I would suggest looking into the Beoworld forums, given B&O's proprietary parts and somewhat uncommon usage around here they might have a better answer. Could you describe the rumble? is it audible through the speakers or does it exist when being close to the actual turntable? Check if the idler is the correct size and material, clean and lubricate the bushings on the idler as well (Dual 1019 needed this) but make sure the idler is kept free of any contaminants.
