Hello everybody and happy holidays! Just got my first B&O device, so I'm pretty excited! But the one I got needs a lot of work!
In brief, Santa just gave me a free beogram 3400, that was listed for parts, and it's in very sad condition, with both power and sound cord cut out. I gave it a good look and dissassembly yesterday, and was happy to see that it looks complete, clean inside, and, more importantly, that it has a complete cartridge and a needle in good condition! I hooked up a new power cord and got it to turn really well and steady, so I decided it was worth attempting to fix it.
The main doubt I have is about the tonearm. Mine has no cover where the counterweight is, and I was wondering if anything is missing from there. it looked like to balance the cartridge at 0g I needed a counterweight (an 8mm socket to be precise). There seems to be very little information about this online, and no parts listed on ebay for that, so I hoped somebody in this group would know what they're talking about! I know my picture is not great, I took a bunch but for some reason phone did not cooperate!
