B&W DM 602's

Just picked up a very nice pair of DM602's. Any opinions on these? My first impression is good but need more time listening to them.

I have spent quite a few hours listening to these now and they are impressive but by far not the best I have ever heard. Good speaker for the money I spent. Not much for response so not many B&W fans out there?

I own a few B&W speakers here. I have the Matrix Three towers and absolutely love them! I have the DM 600 S3 and LCR 60.

The 600 series are B&W's entry level speaker and IMHO they sound awesome.:yes:

I do not own them but have guided many towards them and they are very happy.

I do however own a pair of WM6's, Mini Theater MT-20 w/5 M1's and an AS2
And a full 800 signature series 7.0 see sig.:yes:

I had the 1st generation DM 602s. Tried everything to like them. Didn't work out and I sold them. I thought the bass was flabby, the mids weren't bad, but the highs didn't sparkle and was bland. They look cool, could crank for their size, just not much detail. Sorry... just my opinion.

I have some DM310 that I absolutely love. Very well balanced throughout, not fatigueing in the slightest way. I keep a constant lookout for B&W's, that's how much I like them. A little over a month ago, I missed a steal on a pair of 801's and I'm still depressed! :tears:

I use 4 original 602s for the surround channels of my home theater (LCR6 S2s across the front) and I have also owned 602 S3s and 601 S3s. I think the S2 and S3 models are a step up over the original series. However, the highs in the later models seem a bit subdued IMO. Probably the best thing about the B&W 600 series is that if you can find a pair for a good price, you can almost certainly make a profit if you sell them.

I was driving them with an Onkyo M504 amp which is conservatively rated at 165 watts per side. It has been bench tested to produce about 225 watts before clipping. Dual mono, very solid construction.
