I need to replace the output transistors in my Sansui BA 2000 amplifier. Can anyone give me some suggestions for matching the sound of the originals as closely as possible.
Thanks

You don’t really have a choice. MJ21195G and MJ21196G. Or 93/94.
Use new Bergquist sil-pads. Nice ones.
Make sure the emitter resistors haven’t gone open, and that no other transistors on the amp board have died.
I’m assuming you already replaced all the fusable resistors on the power supply, amp, and input boards?

Thank you very much for your timely response and information. Will be sure to cover all the possible issues that you mention. Which of the two pairs of output transistors that you list do you prefer ? Do they have considerably different sound characteristics ?
Thanks again

The sound is not going to change. Sound is based on the design, not the components.
The 5/6 just have a slightly bigger SOA I believe.

Like all Sansui's, there's a lot of parts to be replaced in a BA-2000 to make it truly reliable.
