BA-5000

I'm recapping my BA-5000 and working on the buffer amplifier circuit board. This almost looks like a prototype. I found a cap that seems to be added and is not in the service manual and some runs scratched out and bypassed . It seems odd to me. Has anyone worked on these and found the same thing?

Serial number is: 245070091

Pictures attached. (made in July 1975)

As a rule of thumb, if looking at a factory mod (rather than an obvious amateur effort at a modification) always follow what you actually have on the bench for rebuidling, not what is in the factory service manual, if there is a difference between the two.

Sansui routinely did production changes, the majority of which were never reflected in the FSM's, as they received one printing and very seldom got updates to recleft running changes. Addenda were occasionally added in the form of technical bulletins, or even stickers to be added into existing manuals, but that was the exception rather than the rule.

Service manuals were known for having periodic errors, so be aware of that possibility as well.
