That is not mine AUX1. I did restoration job for one gentleman from Croatia. I have bought one AUX1 in non-working condition at Yahoo Japan to get spare parts, because today you cannot find any spare part for that great amp. But as Japan model doesnt has multi voltage transformer, I asked my Japan agent to remove transformer, to get lower weight, and cut shipping costs... It must be at my home around new year... Today, I see Yahoo Japan is not cheap any more, the prices of Sansui vintage goes so high at that place too, so you cant find anywhere vintage Sansui for some lower price, Japan was the last place....
 
I receive it!!

Today it arrived! AUX1 from Japan! It is in very good condition, look at picture:

As you can see, the main transformer is removed by my Japan agent, to reduce shipping costs, because it is 100V AC unit only...

Maybe I will do that, if I have original Sansui multivoltage transformer, but I dont wish to make some quasi-AUX1 with some non-original transformer... When I decided to buy it at Japan, I decided because today you cannot find any spare part for that great amp...
 
I am currently working on a restoration of an AU-X1.

Where did you find those replacement RCA connectors?

I'm rather Googled out trying to nail down the answer to this question, so ...

Are all Mica capacitors Silver Mica?

Are the ones made with Teflon just Silver Mica with Teflon added, or is it a totally different type?

If different, which is best in the signal path?

Where did you buy them??

Kale, I got an AU X1 a while ago, connected it up and was listening to music, very impressed with it's sound, switched inputs and then it happened. A slight buzz and it went dead. now only the power light flashes, gone into power protection mode, main relay clicks but nothing else. sometimes when I turn it on nothing happens, light doesn't light and power relay doesn't click. My question, I am visually disabled so I can not read the serial number, how does one tell the build date of the X1s? I want to send it in to Stereo Repair-In House Service Company Setauket, NY

I wouldn't trust just anyone with that X1.:nono: Have it done right and then your set for many years to come.
