That's why it's code to have GFCI in the bathroom.
Still don't think equipment like Hi Fi allowed in bathroom here in UK. My house has an RCCD (Residual Current Circuit Device) on the whole house supply.

In the Bathroom
Water can be an efficient conductor of electricity. When the two mix, the result is potentially lethal, making the bathroom possibly the most hazardous room in the home. The consequences of an electric shock are far more severe in a bathroom or shower room, as wet skin reduces the body's resistance. There are special requirements for electrical installations in bathrooms:
* Socket outlets are not permitted in bathrooms or shower rooms, with the exception of shaver supply units;
* Shaver supply units must be positioned at a safe distance from the bath or shower;
* Never take mains powered portable appliances such as hairdryers or radios into the bathroom;
* Enclosed ceiling lights are preferable to pendant light fittings. All other light fittings must be out of reach or enclosed to keep water out;
* A ceiling mounted pull cord switch, where the cord made of insulating material, is the safest option for a bathroom;
* Central heating is the safest way of keeping a bathroom warm. But if you do have an electric room heater, it must be fixed at a safe distance from the bath or shower;
* Electric and gas water heaters in a bathroom must be fixed and permanently wired. They must never be supplied via a plug and socket outlet;
* A pull cord, or a switch located outside the bathroom, should preferably control electric heaters;
* An instant demand electric shower must be supplied direct from the consumer unit.
