I remember years ago, Playboy had an article in it from some beer snob. It was about drinking beer in and around the US. He blasted the South saying we didn't know how to drink beer because we drink it so cold. Sounds to me here, that folks all over the states like it cold. Canceled my script to Playboy.
Hell If I wanted to drink $hit, I'd stir a turd in water.
I like Ales cool and not cold. Everything else pretty cold but not freezing cold. Otherwise you can't taste the beer and I tend to guzzle them on hot days.

All depends...Different styles require different temps. For example, if ya ever get a beer (usually the higher octane ones...) that has a metallic taste to it - let it warm up abit. The metal flavors will usually go away. For most domestic stuff though, I agree that damn near slushy is best :thmbsp:
I don't drink any more, but, I used to like most American beer as cold as I could get it without freezing.
I had some Heineken Dark once, and it tasted terrible cold.
After experimenting, I found that 1 or 2 seconds (I don't remember which) in the microwave was just enough to make it taste good.
I liked Guinness and Murphy's Stout cold, too, even though they're "heavier."
