Beginings of a new vintage system!

So my turntable has landed. It made the trip with no damage. Which amazes me seeing it was ship USPS. Had it check out and setup by a pro so works/sounds great. Here's a few pics.

Nice I still don’t have a turntable they supposedly have the best audio quality.
I’d need a proper av stand wich I can’t afford right now. Classic jbl are one of my favorite I just don’t have any yet .
Newer jbl seem to have just copied klipsch, usually have horns.
 
AV stands are getting hard to find unless you use TV stands. Most places don't carry them or you have to order them any more. I just got mine from a place called ABC Warehouse. It was the last one they had in the back. Discontinued of course so I talked them down by fifty. Your best bet any more is online I think. Then you can get something decent for under a hundred bucks that will do the job. I plan to dress mine up with lights and logo.
 
Finally today my Marantz/JBL system is complete. It took me about five months to find, service and complete once I got serious about it. Again, I will go over the components that make up what I have here. Speakers are JBL L-100's. Rated at 50 watted per speaker. 12 "woofers. Turntable is Marantz 6300. It has been serviced and had the RCA's replaced. Amplifier is Marantz 1090 that comes in at 45 watts per channel. This has also been serviced and had both channels capped. Very rare amp. Turner is a Marantz 110 stereo. It has been serviced and had the FM decoder board replaced and fully capped. Also rare piece of equipment. Together this setup sounds amazing in a 14'x30' room with hardwood floors and rugs. A bit of echo to deal with but not bad with all the furniture.i can barely get it to half volume in this room. This is my first vintage system. But now I am hooked and have my eye on a Denon DP-61F turntable as well. LOL

I have not updated this thread for a while and I have added two new additions to the system. Both are tape decks and both were for the most part impulse buys due to price. Lets just say both were nicely under hundred bucks. First was a really rare JVC KD-3030 deck. This deck works ok when I got it except of the FF. Played and sounded good though. I do own some cassettes plus have a store near by with large inventory with good prices. This guys a brute. All that was needed was of course new belts and a good clean up. Gave me an excuse to buy a head demagitizer. Works, looks and sounds even better now with a good cleaning and head adjustments. One thing for someone looking to get into cassettes. The cassettes themselves tend to break down quite a bit. Not the tape but the mechanical parts that lead to poor sound quality.

Next, just two days ago, I found and bought a reel to reel. An Akai 4000DS with both reels and some music on the reel of a band that I still have not identified yet. Not a bad entry level unit. I have never owned a RTR before but could not pass it up. This one also needs belts and cleaning. The counter belt is broken and the pause lever knob is missing too. (Just bought one) Finally the case does need some light work as the veneer is chipped in places. But I am thinking as you can disassemble easily that I may redo the whole case with new reveer in something cool. Tigerwood maybe. We shall see! Now I am on the fun hunt for RTR music. That's really why I bought the deck. Plus to make mix tapes with it. ROCK ON!!!!

Congrats on taking that step towards your dream. As you have found out, there are many roads that lead to Rome, and many ways to skin a cat. As long as you find contentment in what you are listening to, you don't have to stick to a specific formula to get to audio nirvana.

So now the hunt go on for a Marantz reciever and Marantz turnable. On the turnable the 6300 is the guy. The reciever the 2270 would be great as these are the ones that the brother had. Bit if I can not find or afford them I may settle for a lesser model for now and work up. So any thoughts or ideas on this system?
