Thank you for posting. I always liked the P-39. The historians say the Russians loved them, primarily for ground attack. Just like the P-40 it didn't have enough high altitude performance to excel at the fighter role. It soldiered on until more able fighters were produced.

Again great story!!!!! I always loved the sleek looks of the Airacobra as well. Sadly, I have read where it was prone to going into a "flat-spin" with disaterious results. Still, to me a lovely aircraft
