Bertram rx2 or Technics sl-q300

hello all,

I am getting back into vinyl after almost 30 years and need some help deciding between two turntables. The two I am considering are Bang and Olufsen Beogram rx2 w/ MMC5 for $150 and a Technics Sl-Q300 for $125.

I am aware of the high price of cartridges for the Beogram. I am just wondering which is the better turntable.

Don't you just love spelling correction software?
The only problem with Beogram TTs is that you have to use B&O cartridges, and B&O no longer makes them. Stopped making them over 20 years ago.
You can still get them rebuilt, and the Soundsmith makes replacement carts for B&O TTs but they ain't cheap.

Dang auto correct! The carts for the rx2 are a little pricey for my taste for sure.
There are rebuilders around, but the cheapest SS cart is pretty good. I had one years ago in a TX2, gave it to a friend of mine for his RX2.
The Technics also uses a unique cart, a P-mount, but P-mount cartridges are easier to find and still available. Ortofon, AT, and Grado all make P-mount carts.
