Best 2way Speakers you have owned

Luxman LX-104 MKII and it's not even close. Designed by Paul Barton of PSB fame, they blow away any other two way I've ever tried and there's been many. ;)
 
Paradigm Titans/w matching sub, Ohm Walsh 2, Snell K-II, Martin Logan Aerius-i, Totem Hawks...
 
These are minimus 11 aluminum cabinets I used for an econowave project. Going strong for 14 years now.

The woofers on the sides are actually passive radiators.

My taste usually runs to larger speakers, but early on in the hobby I went through a fair number of 2-way speakers. KLH Model 6 had to be my favorites.
 
Today, after a weekend of playing with all of my speakers I would have thought EPI M150's but I am going to go with EPI 200B's, that being said, all of my 2 ways have been in the Burhoe family tree as I haven't been deep into the hobby for long.

Having only owned 2-way speakers in my life, of which I can remember some but certainly not all the makes and models, many of which I constructed of my own design or the designs of others, I felt compelled to respond.

A few months ago I acquired a pair of DCM TF-350s from a teenage boy in Wisconson that he had stored in his dad's barn. He said that he bought them at an estate sale and sold them to me for $100. After refoaming the woofs in them and replacing out the electrolytic caps with film caps on the tweeter side of the x-overs, I hooked them up and was astonished at the sound quality that this two way speaker system was producing. Clear defined bass output was there from a 6-1/2 woofer, not at the lowest octaves mind you, but definitely the lowest that I have ever heard coming from a woofer such as these. I currently assist them with an 18 inch H-frame open baffle sub. Clarity and detail across the mids and highs is very apparent with a very smooth x-over at about 2kHz. No measurements, just my ears. After all, that's all that matters, right? What is most notable, however, is the spaciousness that they present - an incredible soundstage - left to right and front to back. Can that be measured? I don't know. I really don't care. I like what I hear. I seriously intend to hold on to and enjoy these for a long time.

A week ago, I saw another pair on Facebook for sale at $80 and couldn't resist. I'm retired and enjoy bringing old vintage turntables and speakers back to life so I said to myself, why not? I jumped in the car on a Wednesday afternoon and drove 4 hours to pick them up. Just finished the auditory rebuilding and the second pair sound just as impressive as the first of course. All that remains is cosmetic restoration. I'm not quite sure what I am going to do with them yet. Oh, well. I may very well be on my way to becoming a DCM junkie, I know they are out there!

I have no idea why DCM's aren't more popular/valuable. It must be the large size and weird looks. I have TF-500's and I think they're great. Not 2-way, but people love the Time Windows too.

I have often times wondered the same. Maybe they are a well kept secret for a reason! But I couldn't help myself in sharing their great sound, word has been out for some time now. I don't feel too guilty. Besides, my better side says to share with like minded fanatics!

Same. When they come up for sale around here they usually sit on marketplace for a while. I only paid a buck forty for my 500's, after missing some 600's that were even less! They either didn't sell many of them in their home state, or the people who have them never sell.
