I have a dl-110 but I prefer to run my Stanton 681 when listening to punk (80s hardcore..circle jerks, black flag, angry samoans). more rich and full. I find the dl-110 can be bright at times with my punk records
 
The answer is any cartridge should be able to handle the music. I'd be hesitant about the Grado, which has amazing midrange but whose bass, while deep, can be a bit plodding at tmes and whose treble a touch recessed.

i'd try a stylus upgrade first and see how that goes.
