Hey John,

I hear ya, as I am in the same camp with the silver, especially vintage 70’s, but the black face gear does have the mystic and surly should be represented. I have a few receivers in silver; G-22000 / G-33000 / SX-1980 / SR-2004 / SR-604 / R-651 / R-661 and in black; G-871DB / SR2001 / RX-2001 / 730 / 530 / SR-4A.

Regards,
TB

oh man ! i woul love to see the black faced ones! any pics?

Amen... big fan of the TR 2080 but you guys probably knew that about me by now. I may have to replace the 2075 MkII pic in my avatar with a 2080. Still love the blue meters but the 2080 is such a sweetheart... never drifts, doesn't snap crackle or pop, just sounds great every time I use it which is close to daily.

Can't post it again for some reason, but here's a link for those that like the pics, have to scroll down a bit:

In terms of simple elegance, harman-kardon usually led the pack IMO.

(the hk Citation Rx photos were 'borrowed' from the fine website www.thevintageknob.org )

Hi,

There are too many fine looking receivers for me to settle for just one: Some standouts for me on styling are:

1970's Harman-Kardon (I love their industrial design)
Any Tandberg
Bang & Olufsen
McIntosh MAC 1700, MAC 1900, and MAC 4100
Sansui Big G line and most all pre-1980 Sansui
Silver Pioneers
HH Scott Stereomaster line pre 1980
Pre 1980 Yamahas
Any pre-1980 Marantz, the 18 and 19 my favorites
Pre 1971 Fishers
Pre 1980 Kenwood (I love Kennys)
Settons
1967-1976 Sony receivers

This list only scratches the surface of beautiful units
