Thak You Mr Boochie!!!

Because of your song submission, I searched Tom Tom Club, and found out they are an outgrowth of the Talking Heads! :D

" Tom Tom Club is an American new wave band founded in 1981 by husband-and-wife team Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth and as a side project from Talking Heads.[3] Their best known songs include the UK top 10 hit "Wordy Rappinghood" and the US top 40 hit "Genius of Love", both from their 1981 debut album, and a cover of The Drifters' "Under the Boardwalk" that reached the UK top 30."
Husband and wife duo. I think Tina was one of the finest bassists of that time.

Tom Tom Club LP was one of the most played at parties in those days. Solid rhythm section.

PS, don't hate me for this admission, , , , but, , I NEVER liked Springsteen :(

All my friends were always going on about "but, your such a motorhead, how can ya not like Bruce?"

Just never clicked with me, , , his music always felt kinda forced to me, sorta like how I always felt Michael Richards forced (over emoted) Kramer.
Same here, and I was a UAW member for 15 years.

I met Tina in the 90's in a private backstage setting after a TTC gig, the funny thing was she thought she knew me and seemed genuinely excited to see me however she was way out of it if I'm not mistaken she dabbled in Heroin back then.

Edit: I take that back with regards to Heroin I'm not sure where I got that from, she was under some influence though

i never liked him either. it's like he's yelling at me.

Wow! I really appreciate everyone's responses to my post. I wasn't lookin to turn Natasha's thread into a "bag on Bruce" fest, and TBH I kinda expected some flames directed toward me for my admission, given how popular he is with a lot of people. I truly mean no ill will towards Bruce or his fans, it's just like I said, some music just clicks with ya, , , ya know from the first time ya hear it that "Man, this is IT!", and I never got that from Bruce's music.....

Not a big deal. It's pointless to argue about matters of personal taste.

But in the spirit of this thread " The River" is a big part of my memories from 1981.

"Double Fantasy" is another, but for completely different reasons.

Moment of silence for Sandinista!
Such a great record.
Not to be too anal, but to be anal --- my LP is the 1980 pressing.

It's a most excellent LP and pressing.

Charlie Don't Surf.
