Betamax what's good?

[AudioNord]

I found myself bidding on some Betamax films on ebay. Now I need a good player. I want something fairly modern with remote, but not too expensive. Also what tapes are good for recording?
Thanks.

Avoid Sony SL-5000 and the Zenith lookalike version. They are trouble prone(from first hand experience).

Thanks. I got a Sony SL-F1 from shitaly and some cool movies from ebay. Star Trek Wrath of Khan among others.

Finds some blanks. Beta, IMO, is tops when it comes to analog recording sound quality!!!

Anyone know how I can connect it to my mainframe confuser?

I have 2 Sony SL-F1's and matching Sony TT-FI tuner. IMHO,they're the best Betamax VCR's Sony made. Mine are still going strong to this day (although, they had a service in the 90's). Always liked TDK and Sony tapes.
