The manual for the BGW 620B rates it 200/wpc @ 8 ohms 20hz-20khz; the 600 is 175. Though I thought the rear panel on the one 620B I saw had the same 175/wpc rating as the 600. But if you run them as monoblocks, it's 500 watts @ 8 ohms. I don't think these are advised to run 4 ohms in mono mode. Now I don't know how much more they're asking for the 750 which is 250/wpc, fan cooled and much heavier. Just the front panel and handles are a load.
I don't see a weight given anywhere. I might text the seller and see if he has a couple at home and could put one on a scale.
I'm sure there are some much more knowledgeable guys on this forum familiar with these amps than me.
The 600 has all the usual input and outputs, the 620B has barrier strips which could be used with adapters for bananas or spades. Of course, you could swap out the barrier strips for binding posts if your handy with the soldering iron and a little fabrication.
Both are probably fine for power hungry applications. At this price, get a few and have at least one for backup, or the occasional welding party.
The 750 series weighs 50-54 pounds. I would guess the 620 series weighs similarly, maybe a touch more with the two output transformers. A couple of ebay listings indicate 56 pounds.
My 600 has a medium size transformer and though it's big, there's a lot of empty space in the case. I doubt it weighs over 40 pounds or if so, not by much. The monoblock 620B I saw had one of these sticking out the back...
I just picked up four of these, and they look pretty clean on the outside. I'll hook them this weekend and see how they sound. The guy said he's willing to ship, FYI. He seemed pretty nice and honest.
Ditto that on the seller - Joel - straightforward in where the amps came from, condition, everything. Really interested in hearing your opinion on the sound. My take after a week is: neutral, clean, 'warm' though I've never considered using that to describe an amplifier's sonic traits but these British speakers are fairly lean, maybe a little laid back and it makes them sound full in the mids and lower midrange/upper bass without being tubby.
I would have made a big mistake in selling these Celestion 300's as now they have a soundstage very close to being as open and wide as the little Spendor S1's with the bonus of the deep bass notes.
Not sure I'll have an opportunity to set them up properly for a while. I plan to use one on each 15" and then I'll use a pair of Magnavox 175 tube amps on the mids and highs of my NAS Studio Monitor speakers. Eventually, I'll change the Magnavox amps out for a pair of Dynaco st-70's or something better.
For now, I'm testing the top one through my iphone and a pair of Boston a60's I just finished re-foaming.
Only issue I had with mine was some corrosion on the input jacks; level controls all smooth and noise free. Did you pickup at the storage unit or at Joel's home...? I might try to get another this weekend.
