Bluetooth causing shutdown on Yama R202BL

Just set up my first stereo rack. Been enjoying it but if for some reason I want to switch to Bluetooth and connect with my phone the receiver will shut off as if to protect it. Ive searched the threads but am new to this so apologies if I missed this and am causing a redundancy. A common issue I've seen is speaker wires touching causing a short. As you can see here, no speaker wires are touching. 20181228_162919.jpg
The speakers on channel A are 2 8ohm Mitsubishi M-S4200 and Channel B has 2 8 ohm Advent Baby III with one advent having wires extended to power a Denon 6 ohm Center speaker that was given to me after someone upgraded their home theater center.

The rack setup is seen below with my Yamaha C70. I know these tend to get hot, so I bought a cooling fan to place above:

It sufficiently keeps the C70 cool and the Yamaha R202BL does not seem hot to the touch.
20181228_162846.jpgEverything (RCA double tape player, Sony CD/DVD player, and Fluance RT-81) is fed into the Yamaha C-70 pre-amp and then put into the DOD R-830 equalizer and then into line 1 of the Yamaha R-202BL.20181228_162942.jpg I can switch between players with ease and play for hours, but as soon as I try to connect to bluetooth it just shuts down. All of these are on the same power strip.

A 12 outlet surge protector.

Again apologies for the NOOB question but I've tried digging through threads and get misled or have tried everything (temps, crossed wires, connections, elimination 1 by 1). There may be something obvious and if so please inform. If not if you see any potential no nos to any of my equipment setup and uses I'm happy to hear.

It may or may not contribute to the problem, but all of your EQ settings are boosts. If you slide them all down evenly, relative to how they are currently set, so that some are boosting and some are cutting, with the 'average' in the center of the range, it may help, without changing your preferred balance.

Also, disconnect the center speaker and see if it still happens.

I'm not clear what you've got hooked to what. You've got a Yamaha C70 and a Yamaha R-S202BL?

Is it the C70 that's shutting down?

Or is it the R-S202BL?

The R-S202BL is being used as a Bluetooth receiver?

Is the R-S202BL connected to the C70?

How are they connected to each other?

Are you sure it's not your phone sending some kind of a surge or loud sound when it connects/pairs with/wakes up your Yamaha's Bluetooth connection? That would be my first thought.

It could be an ultrasonic surge/sound you cannot hear, or possibly one that is in the audible range but never reaches your speaker because the Yamaha goes into protection before the surge/sound can reach the speaker outputs of the Yamaha.

Are you activating both speakers A and B? If so have you looked up to see if that model forces them in series? If not I assume you are asking too much from the amp.

Easy test to limit it to bluetooth, turn on a CD or go 3.5mm to RCA directly in and turn that sucker up. If it was due to the configuration of the speakers it would turn off regardless of input. If it does not it could be something wrong with the internals.

Please describe the signal chain.
What feeds into what ?
Pictures of the rear of your setup would help.

What is shutting down ?
Unit goes dark and powers off ?
Will it respond to power switch ?
Unit stays lit but goes silent ?

More information required

Apologies for the confusion. Every player is hooked into the preamp and then a line connects the output of the preamp to the equalizer input and then the output of the equalizer into line 1 of the receiver.

The receiver itself is the only thing that shuts down. It will not turn back on with the power switch. I turn off the surge protector which shuts everything down at once. When I turn everything back on there is a hum heard through the speakers.

When it automatically shuts down I turn off the surge protector, then turn it back on. The receiver is still off and when I turn on my receiver there is a loud hum.

With all other sources working normally aside from BT this would certainly point to some sort of issue with the receiver itself.
If it was an external issue I would imagine you would see it with other sources. As it is the BT module is in the receiver and there's really no way to use it incorrectly.
An easy way to check would be to disconnect all the other sources and see if it goes down by itself when pairing the phone.

Disconnect everything including the speakers from the S202BL, leaving only the power cord. Turn it on, and try connecting to it via Bluetooth. Does it still shut down?

Yesterday all I had to do was shut off the main switch on the surge protector and turn it back on and I could connect again just fine with bluetooth and then after playing the record player for a time then I would try to connect to bluetooth and then the receiver would shut off with some sharp click sounds. This morning I tried a few tests.
1. I turned the switch on as I have before and without trying to connect it to bluetooth it sent out a large hum and shut off with several click sounds.
2. Then I unplugged everything but the receiver from the surge protector. I kept the speaker wires to rule that out: same hum and immediate shutoff. Same hum and click shutoff.
3. Then I unplugged the speaker wires from the receiver and unplugged from the surge protector and plugged it back in. Then the connection works.
4. Plugged the speaker wire back in just the B channel. Shut off after connection
5. Plugged the speaker back in the A channel. Connects just fine, opened spotify. Played music. Then I removed the left and right speakers and moved them to B channel and everything works.
6. Plugged in the second set of speakers into the B channel no shutoff
7. Replug everything in one by one. Bluetooth still going strong.
8. Switch to record player everything going strong
9. Turn off bluetooth connection. Reconnect: Shuts off.
I have yet to repeat these steps without the cd player, record player etc. But since it seems most consistent with disconnection and re connection I'm starting to think it may be a receiver issue. Maybe due to too much strain? If so what specs should I look for in upgrading my receiver? Would any power amp do?

Try steps above (regarding speaker connections) except COMPLETELY remove the center channel speaker from the equation. In general having this extra speaker hooked up could cause the rs202 to go into protect mode.

Apologies for not describing but those steps were with the center speaker wire completely out of the equation.
I'd give the speaker wiring a really good check, just in case there's an intermittent short and the Bluetooth failures are coincidental rather than causal.

Then disconnect the speakers and try the S202BL with headphones and Bluetooth. It shouldn't shut down, but do you sometimes hear a nasty hum when connecting with Bluetooth?

No hums. I don't have any headphones yet. The hum only comes on occasionally after it forces shutdown. I redug through some Amazon reviews and it appears a decent amount of these Yamaha receivers bluetooth fails even without having a complicated setup. I decided to buy an external bluetooth with RCA jacks to plug into the receiver.
