Wow. Bonnie Raitt. Just love her 1970s stuff. Listening to Streetlights for the thousandth time at the moment. How do these records not wear out. Any other Bonnie Raitt fans in AK land? Surely I can't be the only guy here with a stack of Bonnie Raitt records...

Here is another BR fan! I just love her version of "I cannot make you love me", "Dimming of the day", "Silver lining" & "Cool clear water".

I enjoy much of her music, but probably burned myself on several of her 70's LP's, as my wife was a big fan.

Still in heavy rotation are:

1. Baby Mine ~ from Stay Awake (Various Interpretations of Music from Vintage Disney Films) Bonnie with Was Not Was, great tune, great production.

2. It's All Over Now, Baby Blue ~ from the Steal This Movie Soundtrack

3. Guilty ~ From Taking My Time ~ The Randy Newman Classic

4. Everyone's Crying Mercy ~ From Taking My Time

5. Runaway ~ Sweet Forgiveness

Yet another fan. I still have an aircheck cassette from her Wolf Trap performance simulcast (before Dolby) on PBS and NPR. I've always had a soft spot for redheads.

Love Bonnie Raitt.
Saw her live in 1998 with Jackson Browne as the opener.
One of the better shows I've seen.

Luck of the Draw is one that i find i can listen to anytime.

What I love about Bonnie is how she was (and is) a pretty girl in a man's world...rockin' the guitar and singing lyrics like Love Me Like a Man with so much maturity in her early 20's. It seems like a classic case of "what's wrong with this picture".

I discovered Bonnie back in the early 70's compliments of WEBN FM out of Cincinnati. Just loved her and loved her music. Her first album had crude production, yet remains my favorite for it's honesty. I started tuning out of her music around the time that the album Green Light came out. Just seemed like she went too mainstream commercial at that point. Or maybe I was just burned out on her by then.

I did see her at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia , Md. a couple times. Always a joy to hear her sing and watch her play!

Had a girl that turned me on to Bonnie in 1977...her voice melts my brain and her guitar blows me away. Gotta love a chick in a world of Blues...

Fan here too, especially the early stuff. "That song about the midway" is a big favorite, as is Angel From Montgomery. And so many others.

I also like her early records,"Sweet Forgiveness" has lot's of great songs-I especially like "Runaway" and "Louise". BTW does anyone know where the cover photo was shot? The art director was out of Cambridge,Mass and I always felt like the picture was taken at Nantasket Beach in Hull,Mass. It reminds me of that anyway, but it was probably shot somewhere in California...

Hard not to like Bonnie Raitt, learned slide from Lowell George & does excellent covers of songs by Richard Thompson & John Hiatt, among others. First learned about her from a radio broadcast of a 1972 show with guests John Hammond & Lowell George. Highlights from that show are Under a Falling Sky by Jackson Browne & Blind Faith's Can't Find My Way home, etc. That show still gets airtime around my house.

Plus she has one of music's great quotes; "I miss Little Feat more than I miss being 9 years old."

Another fan here - got 5-6 early LPs here as well as a couple of later CDs. Sweet Forgiveness is one of my favorites.

Ya Think?

A "Doug Mac" with a soft spot for ridheids!

It's almost as mystifying as my affinity for single malt scotch. ;-)

I ended up marrying a brown eyed, freckle faced, strawberry blond lass of Irish descent. There's not a redhead in the world I'd rather have.

It's a Bonnie Raitt day today. Got my two daughters rocking out in the car. Give It Up has gotten good reviews from the teen not so much from the younger one. A few cuts on Ultrasonic 72 went over real well. Under the falling sky is a big hit!!!

Been a Bonnie fan since high school. I have yelled "Freebo!!!" at more than one show. I think her Green Light album is underrated. More rock, less blues and folk, very, very good.

The last time I saw her live was 3 or 4 years ago at a music festival near Annapolis. She did a couple numbers with Mavis Staples. If you want pure young Bonnie, I recommend this:
