Try and find a mystery speaker that's strange, not just deservedly obscure.

This one probably is borderline, but it does sport a nice 16-ohm pleated AlNiCo woofer in an acoustic suspension cab.

Hhhmmm, another tough one!

The "Golden Voice" is, indeed, Motorola, commonly used in Magnavox and some Jensen speakers. But all of those names are commonly found on AK.

Hungarian-made Bifron (sp?) speakers are only mentioned once on AK, but none of those I've ever seen even resemble these speakers.

These look tantalizingly familiar, but it's probably because they are a fairly basic design.

Yep, this is a tough one; so far, I'm stumped!

Most Acoustic Suspension designs I've seen used ceramic magnets and foam surrounds.

This is an odd missing link. Who else, in an A.S. speaker used accordian paper surrounds (actually there are no surrounds, just a folded-in outer section of the cone).

Most Acoustic Suspension designs I've seen used ceramic magnets and compliant cloth or foam surrounds. Advent and AR showed what that can do.

The deceptively small but higher-density AlNiCo's in these funny speakers actually put out some bass (even warped). I'm convinced they are not T-Small param'ed though...and the light unbraced boxes and cheap crossovers tell me they were not chasing reviewers. :nono:

What are your top 3 best sounding oddities? I would be really interested in your opinion. Have you found any sleepers.

I just ran upstairs, and that Blue driver looks very similar to a early 901 series 2 driver, minus the bose emblem.

What numbers are stamped on the back of that?

No... those have three mounting screws.

I beg to differ. I have the two's under my nose, and it has four mounting holes. Picture coming shortly.


These to my knowledge, are the Bose series 2 drivers.

I have series 1. and 2. First I bought 2's, the lady packaged them in newspaper, they arrived destroyed. When I showed her the pics, she gave me half my money back.

I then bought the 1's, and transfered the walnut siding treatment over.
