Bose 901 subwoofer?

There were 901 inspired kits. There is a set for sale right now on my local Craig's list. That looks to be one of them.

Only one of these speakers?

Yeah, I was on the side of the road, and I thought it was a 901, but I know nothing about them. I'm pretty green at all of this, and the hi-fi audio world has always been something that's fascinated me as a violinist. It's a shame I only have one, but I think I'm gonna set it up as a center speaker for my home theater system.

Thanks for all your input guys, its absolutely fascinating. Since I only have one of them, I'm thinking about using it as a temporary center speaker for my home audio system. What would be the best way to go about doing that? I have a Yamaha TSR-7810 receiver, if I use the "Center Pre Out" RCA will I need to run it through an special EQ or something?

There's a guy on the CSP forum who scratch built a very professional looking
901 box but I think that CSP is currently down.

You could use it as a phantom channel. Put it in the rear to the center of the wall. Then wire just the right and left positive speakers wires from the B speaker terminals to the speaker. It will only play the differences between the two channels. Depending on the recording you can hear things you never did before. This is how the d Realistic Quadravox feature worked using two rear speakers.

You would need an amplifier between the Center Pre out RCA and the speaker. Or you could connect it directly to the Center speaker terminals.
