BOTL? or TOTL?

There is also the fact that BOTL is a constantly upward moving target. Same with TOTL, though to a much lesser extent.

A better example probably would be to stay within the same model year or years; in that case the TR 2080 was TOTL from say 1978 thru 1982, with the TR 2030 being the BOTL or entry model in the same timeframe.

Your definition is actually more precisely.

Also bear in mind that a model range may use substantially the same technology and offer generally equivalent audio, with a range of models designed for differing system capacity (size of room, power required, maximum SPL and low frequency extension, particularly as it relates to speakers.)

All this advice we are giving is just to get you past models that do NOT perform close to their big brothers (less wattage/less features only).

I had a friend by yesterday and beings we were rained out from what we had planned,he asked if I could dig in to gear that I've brought back up to speed to do some critical listening. He was curious about the bigger stuff first and after a couple hours of swapping/listening to all that.....out came Pioneer SX-750s,smaller Sansui Gs'.......I enjoyed the face of appreciation!

Tr 200 is About 15 watts in 8 ohms - but mighty watts indeed! If You have sensitive speakers, then it will rock your world :music:
