Bought my first NEW car.

So excited, First car was a 1988 EA Ford Falcon, Second car was a 1987 Nissan Pulsar. Now after about 8 months of deciding, saving and budgeting I have finally bought myself a new car. A 2010 Mazda 3 Maxx Sport, Lucky for me I wont even be losing much money by driving out of the car yard. They accidentally sold me a 2009 model that had already sold to someone else so I got a 2010 model for the price I negotiated for the '09 model. Hooray! about $3200 cheaper!

Sure I'm 21 and probably shouldnt spend this sorta money on a new car but I'm in a secure job and really love cars/driving. So for me Its definately worth it.

I did test drives and looked at a fair few cars, the Mazda 3 was by far the best value and best equiped. Very nice intereior compared to competing cars with good fit and finish, really nice to drive and in my opinion looks great. Although I know that the Mazda 3's new looks are a love/hate scenario, I love them and since its my car thats all that matters! I pick it up in a few hours, Pics to follow!

Nothing beats "New Car Smell"!

You can make sure that all maintenance is done on schedule

Smells great

Makes every trip fun


They can talk about what great value a "used car" is, but if you buy new and take good care of it, you can get a lot of good service out of it.

I'm leaving to pick it up in about 20 mins, I promise I'll snap a shot and put one here as soon as I'm home. The dealership is only about 15min drive. Pics here in about an hour. But then I'm going to be out driving!
 
Haven't had a new one yet. Actually, I am still on my first car, bought 3 years ago from my dad but have been driving it for 4 years.

OK, sorry for the delay. As you might guess I was a bit distracted! Here are some pics, sorry the suns going down so the light isnt great, I'll put up good ones tomorrow. I'm pretty happy with it, drives nicely.

Congratulations!! The "3" would be one of my top choices for a compact sedan/hatch here in the States.

Given your dirt parking area, I'd go look for a nice set of rubber floor mats to protect those brand new carpets. They'll come in handy when the rains come.:thmbsp:

Heheh, a freind of mine suggested "Mazdawizz3" heh. But well I've had Mattwizz3 for the internet for about 10 years now so its gonna have to stay.
Regarding TAFE though, I dont go anymore but I wouldent say I finished. Heh, basically I wasnt getting any satisfaction doing the work, classes were cancelled here and there and I found it hard to find motivation to study. So I have done about 75% of the course, but left. The place was making me miserable. Dissapointed that I couldent finish, but happy to put it behind me!
Anyways, my K-mart wage is paying for it and my job is pretty secure. I've kinda had a couple of small 'premotions' which is good.

ANYWAYS, the car! Its great!
I'm starting to get a little more comfortable driving it, Its a bit nerve racking to be honest. I'll be more settled in a week or so.
 
NICE! It's always interesting to see how Australian market cars have slight differences from North American versions. Congratulations, and you can count on a long life from that Mazda engine!

When I first read that, I thought "he must be mistaken"- then I remembered that Australia still had the falcon, for many years after they stopped selling in the states.

Nice Mazda!, good cars that, from what i've read, have great handling, sporty performance, and are alot of fun. New cars are something else, nothing really tops it. Hope you put alot of miles on the car, that's the sign of really loving a vehicle (or '90 camry has 288,000:D)
