Braun L710 vs ADS L710

I'm pretty sure they are the same speakers, here's just one of a myriad of threads on the ADS/Braun connection

Cabinets, drivers, crossovers, etc. - for sure they stem from the same design concept but that's down to ADS having originally distributed Braun here in the US, before they started making their own systems.
The Braun version is closest to the oldest ADS version, not to the final ADS metal grill version both chronologically and in terms of the drivers. Conversely, the cabinet shape of the original Braun L710 (which predates any ADS/US models) was emulated for that final metal grill version ADS made, with the rounded corners and metal grills featured in both. Earlier ADS versions had square corner cabinets and fabric grills. But, in terms of the working parts (drivers and crossover, surround materials, dome sizes and materials, location and means of mounting to the baffle etc.), the first ADS version is the closest to the Braun L710 which surely inspired it.

Scroll through the pics, you can see some of what I'm talking about if you compare these with the ADS versions; there are also pictures of the drivers on the interweb. Similar, yes - but not identical and you wouldn't be well-served subbing parts between the two necessarily.

That whole look came out of Germany... you see it in the designs Dieter Rams did for Braun, the Atelier component, Canton speakers and so on. Not my area of expertise but for sure ADS just leveraged that design for their own purposes. Not sure why they did so later on vs. earlier but possibly they did not have local manufacturing that could produce the rounded cabinets (or couldn't deal with the higher cost, maybe) but someone decided to go back to that look late in the model's timeline. It seems to have continued longer in the small metal cabinet L-series models, 200/300/400/400e and so on.

Bumping this old thread because..
I picked up some Braun L710’s and they don’t sound right. I have other a/d/s speakers, a pair of L620’s and a pair of L1’s, so I think I’m fairly familiar with what kind of sound to anticipate from these.
One of the posts above implies that swapping parts from an a/d/s to a Braun might not be the best idea. Can anyone elaborate on this for me?
Also - the cabinets have a shared space for each of the woofers, as opposed to the later versions that have separate chambers. Would switching to a newer pair make a meaningful difference in woofer performance? The bass on these is really shy; my L1’s have a single 8 and express a fuller bottom end.
Last question, these are marked 4 Ohm / 40 watts.. What changed to achieve a higher power rating when a/d/s began building their version?
