Budget preamp/receiver advice

Hi folks! So I'm in the market for a preamp or a receiver for my turntable, and could use a bit of advice since I'm still relatively new to this whole turntable life. Currently I have a Kenwood KD-3070 turntable, a Sony receiver with no phono input and a pair of Sony bookshelf speakers. I'm looking into a preamp but would be open to getting a whole new receiver as well--whatever sounds the best on this limited budget.

A couple of options I've found:

- Art DJPreII Amazon/Ebay for $40-50
- Realistic 42-2101 - $35-40 on Ebay

Thoughts on these options? Are they priced fairly? Thoughts on the preamp/receiver thing? Hit me with 'em, I'd be happy to hear any feedback/advice.

The Yamaha AVR is a decent unit with phono input.Yahama gear can usually be trusted to be respectable for its price point.
I've had a few 90's era Yamaha receivers (still have one as a backup since I burn things up time to time), and passed them on to others for their starter setup.
Or start with the Art DJ preamp since you already know what sound you now have and have a baseline.
Pass on the Magnavox. All in one plastic units are for kids.
The little Technics isn't terrible but you already have a TT and would be paying for what you already have and your Kenwood isn;t that bad a table.
Then some decent little speakers and a phono cartridge and you're off and running in the record listening game!!
