The only pair of White van speakers I heard darn near shorted out the guy's amp. They looked very much like the carpeted thing's in past #5. They sounded as bad as everybody say's to me. Maybe great at a party after too many refreshments. But hey...to each his own. My old sears Silvertone Console from the mid 70's sounded better, At least they didn't fry the amp. With all the decent vintage speakers out there (nearly all of them) for under $100 I see no use for them myself.
But I do like GRF, so maybe it's just me! Maybe if I heard GFR on White Van Speakers I wouldn't like them either!
I just saw a pair of WV speakers on kijiji with a certificate of athanticity for...get this $350. Unbelievable!

Just an old fart trying to help.
Just last week I was listening to various GFR "live" recordings.
The GFR "Live album" while usually thought to be poorly recorded, actually had pretty good sound, and Mels bass was truly "growling" throughout the set.
Next was GFR "Live 1972 tour" featuring Shea Stadium recordings...this one was not well recorded IMO.
The next night I listened to "Caught in the Act" from 1974-75. Well recorded, great set list.
I have "Bosnia" but didn't get to it. During previous listenings didn't much care for the orchestral stuff, though the concert was for a good cause.
I waited about 25 years to see them, never caught them back in the day, saw them at one of their first reunion concerts in 1996 and have seen them several times since. Once from the edge of the stage! I've seen the "original" GFR, the "new GFR" and Mark Farners NR'G band (highly recommended).
But I digress....
One thing, whether live or at home, I never saw either myself or the band, using white van speakers.*
