I talked to a guy once who sold factory direct figurines at auctions. He used to put them up for sale at a minimum bid price....if nobody bid the minimum...he would throw them into a large trash can (you could hear it break). It was a very effective sales technique...people normally started biding after that.

eek! I wouldn't even think of bidding on one of those if I heard them breaking. How do I know he wouldn't sell one that was glued back together?
