Buzz on one channel - fixed

A buzz on one channel has been driving me mad. It only ocurred on the record player and NOT on AUX when playing CDs. I swapped to a different turntable with exactly the same result .

Intitally I thought it might be an amplfier switch problem. Logic suggested it could not have been the speakers or the interconnects or the buzz would heve been consistent so it had to be something specific to the turntables.

Finally my elderly bush-brain realized it had to be the power supply - in my case an inverter delivering mains voltage from a 12V deep cycle battery, used to act as a buffer/filter against voltage fluctuations - an arrangement that works well and is a whole lot less expensive than mains regeneration gear.

Swapped the inverter for a backup unit - problem fixed!
