Thanks NAD 80, glad to be here. I wish I could see that label better too. They look familiar to me too, especially since there is a dedicated right and left speaker.Would love a close up of the rear label. I've seen those speakers here somewhere. Spkerjunkie welcome to AK.
They're not any cheesier than what Altec and JBL used on everything thru the 70's.using cheesy binding posts
I was thinking that too, but they could be a in store knock off too, with inferior parts made to look like a brand name speaker. I already have about 40 speakers, and running out of room. I am hoping if someone here may know them and have had experience with them.Mirror imaged is usually a good sign. A crossover refresh and you should be good. Let us know how they sound.
Remove a woofer and check the speaker code. You should see the crossover then. Post the pictures here.< Sorry thought you already had them.I am hoping if someone here may know them and have had experience with them.
Thank you, so much! Have ever you heard them?Hartley Zodiacs made in Wilmington NC. They should have a coil in parallel, a resistor in series and a cap in series glued to the back of the tweeter only, the CTS woofer runs free. These came in mirrored pairs, the Philips tweeter is not an off the shelf unit it was built to Hartley specs.
Thank's again for your help! It's been a pleasure!Yes I have a pair, I think they are a fun little speaker especially given the low price. Grills would be easy enough to build. Hartley is still in business with parts and support available.

Picked up a pair of Zodiac 74's and there are two codes on the woofers: 72 039 and 24 7421, so I guess my woofers are either Beckers made in 1974 (24 7421) or something else made in 1970 (72 039). Any ideas? BTW they sound pretty good.Hartley Zodiacs made in Wilmington NC. So did you add a 12dB low pass on the woofer or use the original setup with a cap and coil on the tweeter only? The woofers in mine ran free and rolled off naturally. I used a 12db coil and cap crossover on the woofer and tweeter. With the Dayton tweeters they sound very good. I am impressed at how low the accordion 10 goes in a small sealed cabinet.
