Can I get some advice on my first and current set up ever

Just keep in mind that caps even tho are the same value as the originals can cause the speakers to sound different. Sometimes for the good and for the bad. If you swap them with the standard Dayton caps you most likely won’t hear a difference in sound.

I personally like the Jantzen Z-Caps and exact value shunts. Not crazy expensive and do provide a sonic upgrade. I also like to use the AudioCap Theat caps for bypass caps, really adds a touch of sparkle to the top end. Smooths everything out.

Audio has so many turns, and sound is to subjective just make sure it sounds good to your ears. That’s all that matters

That's awesome my girlfriends grandfather father didnt know I was getting into it. When they stopped in and seen it . needless to say we had a ultra nostalgic conversation on their part. They where really surprised that I peiced it all together .
What did you move onto? Or your current system

I have a pair of marantz imp 6s getting picked up today lol only one I have seen for a long time.

I like the Marantz Imperial 5 and 6 quite a bit. I wouldn’t call either of them clear improvements on the A25, though. It’ll largely be a matter of personal preference.

Sure, maybe you can get a good deal on it, and no doubt find people on AK waxing enthusiastic about it, but is it clearly better than what you’ve got? If the answer is no, then you’re on your way to gear-hoarding. BEWARE.

Always strive to improve. Lateral steps will make you crazy.

I can see how hoarding can be a problem when it come to acquiring things .
I suppose a good way to look at it is if you no longer use it and have not toss it back in the ocean for others to get their chance to catch it .

I dont think i really moved on more like added a bunch more systems (see signature). i probably listen to my tube amps more now but the 2245 is still in regular rotation and my favorite SS piece. i mix up my gear a lot trying different speaker, turntable and cartridge combinations some work some dont but i still like it all.

Over 40 years and still looking and sounding great. ( i did have it recapped a couple years ago )

I have a pair of rebuilt and recapped KLH6s and a cherry set of rebuilt Imperial 6s. I love both sets but still come back to the Imperials for my main system. And paired with a Marantz receiver, they cannot be beat.

At the vary least itll be the 3rd brother to my existing speakers .
I have 3 room in which i plan on setting up systems for. So it will be fun to swap and move things around to fit the acoustics of each room.

Speakers are always the weakest link and this case that has been confirmed.

Gotta start somewhere twiiii and I'm sure you already know how fast upgrades happen with this hobby.
I haven't been in it long but since my first post but I have come a long way as far as understanding
Since then I have acquired 2245 x2 , 2230 , 2270 , my weak link speakers got a major upgrade to a pair of tannoy Berkeley HPD 385 15" dual concentric.
But I do love the dynacos and the avids.

This isn't a criticism.
Many of us have had A25s (which should speak loudly to the fact that they're well liked and respected.
They may be all the speaker you ever need.
That said , IMO ( which for the most part has been shared) while A25s don't really do anything wrong, they don't necessarily excel at anything. Good listening , non fatiguing.
No rush, I encourage you to listen and evaluate what you have. If you get the opportunity to hear other speakers (systems?) I think that'd be the lowest hanging fruit going forward.
I think you did very good out of the gate. Enjoy your new system and welcome to AK.

It's crazy how fast things happen and how much I have learned being here.
Since my post I have added 6 new peices to my collection . I know right ? ..
But as far as speakers go I just pulled the trigger on a pair of tannoy Berkeley hpd 385 15 .
A good friend of mine has a pair and I fell in love and had to have them lol.
At any rate I kinday feel like I'm done now. Super happy with my 4 set ups.
Thinking about gifting a setup to my girlfriends mom who took a liking to the sound .
Said it reminded her of growing up.
Sorry for the novel clearly I'm still vary excited about my new found hobby.

Looking at your system pic, I have a couple of additional suggestions.

Speaker placement: You never want speakers resting on the same surface as your turntable, for reasons of acoustic feedback. Also, your A25 won’t sound their best with the tweeters aimed at your shins. I recommend figuring out which pair you like best and then buying an adequately stout pair of stands that puts the tweeters at ear level. Good stands might run $300+. I’d argue that’s justifiable, but still a good incentive to browse the classified ads.

Turntable placement: As of right now, your turntable is blocking the vents on your 2245. That’s a serious no-no - those vents are there for a reason. You might consider mounting a shelf on the wall, especially if footfalls make the record skip or you can hear them through the speakers.

4 pieces of plywood and a couple 2x4's make perfect stands at whatever height you need. Home Depot will even cut the plywood and 2x4's for you. It's not going to be furniture quality, but it can be stained and still cost roughly 1/10th of that.
