Canadian and British TV

On the Brit sci-fi front, Blake's 7 is great. As is Doctor Who, of course (both new and old versions). And check out Hyperdrive for a nice sci-fi comedy. And Life On Mars is a very good pseudo sci-fi/fantasy.

I've been meaning to check out Continuum, a new Canadian sci-fi show that sounds similar to a modern version of Time Trax. But with a female lead (same actress who played the Orion love interest of Kirk in the 2009 Star Trek movie).

+1, fantastic show with great production values, terrific writing, splendid acting, intrigue and deep character development, you wind up caring about these people!

I wasn't sure I liked it at first and didn't make it through Ep1 in one sitting, but then a friend of mine told me I really needed to take a second look, I've managed to watch season one and half of season two in one week, it's hard to turn it off!

+1 I am deep into season 3, no quality letdown so far. Pretty good show.

I like Doc Martin as well. They are currently on hiatus, but will resume filming next year.

Downton Abbey

OK I am up to season 3 episode 8 on this Downton show and it is really great! Does not air in U.S. 'til 2013 (I think) but I get all in HD from Great Britain via Canada.

I started watching this this past week. I'm hooked on it. I'm glad to see that the network has picked it up for next season.

A newer show for Eugene Levy fans is Schitt’s Creek. It’s available on Prime, not sure about the US though, might have to use a VPN.
