Cap/ESR meter advice

The test leads are in good shape too.

Are you absolutelly sure about it? My device started giving nonsensically high esr-numbers, and it turned out that one of the leads had resistance of several ohms, ie. poor continuity. Replaced the leads with my own wires, and it is now working fine.

I did accidently toast my first purchased ESR-70 by failing to completely discharge a installed HV electrolytic cap before testing it

I'm using the Fluke DMM for capacitance check, and the ebay or Blue esr tester for the esr.

This is what I've been hobbling along with on my basic test bench. Good to know that I'm not the only one that does this.

Check for voltage with the Fluke
Check capacitance with the Fluke
ESR check with the blue meter

Good thread and I would like to run tests with different frequencies or have a legit analyzer at some point.
