Capacitor Coupling?

I have a Pioneer TX-9500ii tuner with both variable and fixed line output. The negative side of the output terminals are tied to ground. And, the negative side of the output terminals are also coupled the ground with a 0.04 microfarad 50V ceramic capacitor. What is the purpose of this capacitor?

I ask the question because I accidentally broke the cap in my unit. I replaced it with the closest value I had, which was a 0.022 microfarad. My second question is, should I try to get the exact value cap or will anything close work in this circuit?

Its to filter out incoming RF/high frequency components. If you have a second 0.022mf cap you can parallel it with the first to get close to the original values.
 
Hmm, doesn't make sense to have a capacitor in that spot to begin with as it wouldn't really be doing anything unless the ground was actually floating. That diagram looks like a capacitor is connected to ground on both sides so wouldn't both the capacitor leads be grounded? Like having the two leads of the capacitor tied together? Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what I see.

Maybe that capacitor is grounded somewhere else that isn't in direct contact with the output ground like the case or something that doesn't have direct contact with the output grounds.

Now I'm curious and will have to take a look at my TX-9500II.

century tek, that's what I see too. I can't imagine what that capacitor is doing since the terminals are tied (also) directly to ground. The cap is connected to the chassis and I didn't look to see how the ground is connected.
