I noticed this thread while researching various cartridge setup questions. I've used the standard 52mm Technics overhang gauge for many years
with AT carts and never had any audible problems. Yesterday, I snagged an Audio Technica overhang gauge that works off the tonearm pivot
to 15mm past the spindle. Don't know what effect it might have on my current setups (14), but it'll be fun to see.
