Cassette Tape Stops during normal playback

I have an old MCS model 3570 and an MCS receiver that match and the cassette plays but stops by itself during playback. I have cleaned the rollers and heads and tried different cassette tapes. Any ideas? Thanks

A bad counter belt could cause this as if the counter is not going, the deck can think that it's reached the end of the tape.

....idler tires inside the mechanics might cause that.

I had this problem in a Denon and it turned out being the tire that changes from the take up spool to the supply spool. When driving the take up spool it would eventually slip and the drive would stop. If you have this type of design clean up the roller and maybe add some restorer to it and you might be set to go.
Good Luck :thmbsp:
