Cell phone cameras - a request

That's what I've liked about Flickr... from what I've seen, they don't alter that info, and I've been able to study the data behind some really cool shots I've seen and liked, and gotten an idea of how they had the camera set up to get the effect..

This may sound odd but after reading your entire message several times, i keep coming up with the same inteprtation, you want us to take a photo of our cell phone using the cell phone. I'm not sure ho to do that. Possibly you could clarify.

There is no such thing as anonymity any more. It still amazes me the personal or incriminating info that kids send out while they are texting back and forth.

Not sure where you get that. I'm asking for pictures taken with mobile devices, then using that same device to send me the picture. If you want to take a picture of your phone, that's fine with me. I can't advise you on how to do that, however.

FWIW, I'm not just interested in the exif data. I'm also collecting information on default file naming standards, picture quality, dimensions, etc.

Cell phone cameras - request

Hi

I think there are two different brand mobiles' cameras which took these pics but I'm not 100% sure. I know you wrote to PM you but I'm curious to know what changes occur during transmitting them here.

Usually between resizing, posting into forums and such, it will strip out the meta-data in the file.

PM me with an e-mail address, I'll send you one from my Verizon Motorola. Not sure of the model # (might be able to dig up the box), but it's a fairly recent, thin flip phone that is their "weather-resistant" model.

It has multiple resolution settings, though. You want me to check what they are, as well?

Thanks for all your help guys - Ron just send from the default setting.

Guys if any of you can send them to me straight from the phone, those are the most helpful. If you rename them or otherwise copy to your computer, some of the file attributes that I want to record get changed.

Renamed and saved ones help too, but I really want to get at the raw, unchanged/unmangled pictures.
